IDF soldier, Sergeant Lia Ben nun and an additional IDF soldier were killed today by an assailant who opened fire at them during a routine activity at the Paran Regional Brigade arena

In the early morning, IDF soldier, Sergeant Lia Ben nun and an additional soldier were killed by the live fire of an assailant, while they conducted a routine activity at a military post in the Egyptian border, in the area of the Paran Regional Brigade.

Sergeant Lia Ben nun, 19 from Rishon LeZion, was a combat soldier in Bardelas Battalion. Lia was promoted in rank from Corporal to Sergeant after her death.

A message regarding the details of the other IDF soldier who was killed during the activity will be delivered later.

The IDF expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families and will continue to support them.
