Why is the IDF striking in Gaza?

The IDF is striking terrorist infrastructure belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization, whose operatives brutally massacred Israeli civilians just a week ago and have been terrorizing Israeli civilians for years. Terrorist infrastructure includes rocket launchers, underground attack tunnels and weapons production and storage facilities, among other things.

The call was sent out using a variety of different means including thousands of pamphlets distributed aerially over Gaza and direct phone calls and text messages to Gazans from ISA personnel, urging them to evacuate south of Wadi Gaza and warning them of the risk of staying in the areas north of the Wadi.

Today (Thursday), the IAF and AFCENT marked the conclusion of the ACE (Agile Combat Employment) deployment.

This deployment is a significant milestone in establishing joint regional operational activities and deepening cooperation between the Israeli and U.S. air forces.

As part of the deployment, six U.S. F-15 fighter jets flew wing-to-wing and simulated training scenarios with IDF F-35I "Adir" aircraft from the 140th Squadron and "Nachshon" (Gulfstream V) aircraft from the 122nd Squadron.

The deployment took place at Nevatim Air Force Base and was planned in advance as part of the IDF’s annual training program for 2023.
