The IDF Welcomes the First Soldiers of the New Panther Battalion!
The first soldiers drafted to the newly established Panther Battalion completed their training and received their official battalion pin in a ceremony that took place last week.
The battalion’s soldiers will be stationed in the Ephraim Regional Brigade. Like all Border Protection Corps Battalions, the Panther Battalion will operate as a regional battalion—the first one to be stationed in Judea and Samaria. This means its soldiers will be stationed in the same region continuously throughout the year rather than switching between active operation and training as infantry battalions do. This kind of service will contribute to the familiarity of the soldiers with the region and their understanding of their surroundings.
It will allow them to operate with great precision and confidence and maintain the security of civilians in the area in the best manner possible.
Similarly to its sibling battalions in the Border Protection Corps, the Panther Battalion includes both men and women who train together and serve together. It was established for the purpose of reinforcing security forces in Judea and Samaria and its main objective as well as its specialty is increasing security along the Judea and Samaria security fence.
