The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, GEN Mark Milley, Arrives in Israel for His Last Official Visit
The IDF Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, welcomed the General for his final official visit to the IDF
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General (* * * *) Mark Milley, arrived in Israel this morning as the guest of the Chief of the General Staff for his final official visit as his term as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff concludes.
General Milley was welcomed with an honorary guard and awarded the IDF Chief of the General Staff's Medal of Appreciation by LTG Halevi for his role in the years-long close partnership between the IDF and the U.S. Armed Forces, the cooperation in the security-strategic field and countless operational achievements and joint exercises.
Throughout his official visits to Israel over the course of the past few years, General Milley met with senior officials of Israel's defense institutions and dealt with regional security challenges, the expansion of opportunities for operational cooperation, coordination between the two militaries in order to defend against regional threats and additional areas of mutual strategic interest.
Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi: "Your term was defined by unprecedented joint activities and operative coordination, in which we significantly improved stability in the Middle East. The strategic alliance between Israel and the U.S. continues to be a significant pillar in Israel's national security, and it has only strengthened over the past two years with the transition of Israel to USCENTCOM, under your leadership and command."
