The Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Visits Israel for the Second Time in the Last Two Months
The Commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), General ( * * * * ) Michael “Erik” Kurilla concluded his second visit to Israel as a personal guest of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Aviv Kohavi, on Sunday. The visit was focused on the promotion of operational matters.
The visit of the CENTCOM Commander followed the visit of the President of the United States to Israel.
The General’s visit continued at the Hatzor Air Force Base, where he was briefed on Israel’s multi-tiered air defense systems, including the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System, Arrow 2, Arrow 3, David’s Sling, which provide a solution to a wide range of multi-layered threats. From there, General Kurilla visited the Ballistic Image Management Center, which is responsible for issuing warnings to the home front and the "Cobra" U.S military compound located on the base.
General Kurilla and LTG Kohavi then met with the Israeli Minister of Defense, Mr. Benny Gantz, to discuss regional security matters.
This visit is another addition to the series of meetings that promote cooperation between the U.S. military to maintain security and stability in the Middle East, as well as to promote operational capabilities and initiatives.
