The Chief of the General Staff Award for the IDF’s Outstanding Units

The ceremony for the 2022 Chief of the General Staff Award took place this evening (Monday) at Camp "Dayan" in Glilot. The ceremony was led by the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Aviv Kohavi, and attended by members of the IDF General Staff, commanders, the families of the recipients and other participants.

This year's awards were given to outstanding units for creative military writing and outstanding initiatives in the fields of personnel treatment, leadership, values, and the IDF's connection to Israel's communities.

Chief of the General Staff, LTG Aviv Kohavi:

“Congratulations to the recipients of the awards, who, along with hard work, are a simple embodiment of the term ‘excellence’ in all its glory. The IDF deals with people from morning to night, bringing people from all backgrounds together to serve shoulder to shoulder. The troops entering another night of activity consist of soldiers from all over the State of Israel, from Dimona and from the kibbutzim, secular and religious—a complete web of individuals who impact Israeli society. The IDF provides assistance during blizzards, fires and COVID-19 outbreaks; it assists the authorities in whatever they require. The IDF’s contribution to the State of Israel is unprecedented and one of a kind. You will not find a comparable example of the organization, people, and wonderful units that comprise the IDF. The recipients of the awards are only a small example of the IDF’s evolution as the ‘people’s army.’ Congratulations on your work.”
