Medical Corps
A role requiring life-saving decision-making in the field under pressure, and providing advanced medical care to the wounded and sick. The paramedic serves as a senior medical authority in combat teams and clinics
Requirements: MDA Paramedic certificate only, with a license number
A role involving the provision of medical care during both routine and emergency situations, clinic management, and conducting examinations and treatments. Doctors are responsible for soldiers' health and an IDF unit's overall medical readiness

Technology and Maintenance Corps
Advanced technological systems in infantry battalions include drones, anti-tank missiles, remote weapon stations ("Katalanit"), optical devices, and mobile mortars ("Keshet"). These utilize advanced electronic and optical tech for maximum precision and firepower. You will be responsible for all advanced systems in the battalion. Training includes advanced drone simulators
Education Required: Electronics Technician/Practical Engineer
Responsibility for the maintenance and repair of heavy engineering vehicles such as D9 bulldozers, excavators, and loaders used for engineering missions. The work involves handling complex hydraulic and mechanical systems
Education Required: Preference for Mechanical or Electrical Technician/Practical Engineer
The Power Pack combines the engine and transmission and is the beating heart of various armored vehicles (Merkava Mk4, Namer, Eitan, etc.). You will be responsible for inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance
Education Required: No specific education required
Ongoing maintenance and repair of mechanical systems in a variety of IDF vehicles, from jeeps to heavy trucks. The role includes diagnosing engine, brake, and steering system faults
Education Required: Vehicle/Mechanical Mechanic
You will be responsible for the operation and fitness of electrical systems in self-propelled artillery and their operational readiness. These cannons allow high-volume, high-precision firing of various ammunition types

The Achzarit is a heavy, protected APC designed by Technology and Maintenance Corps engineers. Recently, an improved version is being produced with modern electrical systems, automotive upgrades, and C2 systems. As an Achzarit electrical technician, you will troubleshoot and repair its electrical systems

Puma is a combat engineering vehicle used by the Combat Engineering Corps to breach territory. The course includes theory and practical workshops, teaching you to repair this powerful vehicle. The Puma mechanic is the warrior's right hand, ensuring the vehicle's fitness

The APC is used by the IDF to move fighters, medics, spare parts, and supplies. You will be responsible for the operation and fitness of the APC's propulsion and electrical systems and their readiness

The Merkava Mk 3 tank is part of the Armored Corps fighting force. You will be responsible for maintenance and operational fitness of the battalion's armored vehicles, including inspections, adjustments, removing/installing assemblies, and troubleshooting

Home Front Command
A role dealing with mental and community resilience in emergencies, providing tools for coping with stress to the civilian population. Officers guide and assist authorities in managing behavioral aspects of emergencies

Lead the public information and communication system during routine and emergency situations, creating content and conveying life-saving messages to the population. The role includes working with media outlets, managing social media channels, and producing informational materials

Performing engineering situational assessments, assisting in search and rescue in collapsed structures, and approving safety of buildings and shelters. Engineers serve as professional authorities for civil defense engineering in emergency situation

Almost any medical profile works! We don't require high combat fitness like young soldiers. The role will be chosen according to your abilities and medical limitations
No! The entire training period is paid directly by the IDF as mandatory service, and subsequent reserve duty is fully funded by the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) as reserve duty
Not necessarily. Basic familiarity with Hebrew is required.
A minimum commitment of 5 years of reserve duty is required. Actual service scope depends on your unit's needs and the nature of your role.
