Troops acting on IDF intelligence and under the direction of the Northern Command are continuing to clear the underground terror tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge. The network was planned and funded by the Iranian terror regime and served as a significant asset for Hezbollah’s combat operations.

This network serves as an example of the Iranian regime’s funding of Hezbollah and usage of terror proxies across the Middle East.

The clearing process started after the IDF recently took operational control of the Beaufort Ridge, in order to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and eliminate terrorists, with the aim of removing direct threats to northern Israeli communities.

Weapons Found in Tunnels Beneath the Beaufort Ridge

While clearing the terror tunnel network, the troops located numerous weapons, including:

  • Mortar shells
  • Fragmentation grenades
  • RPG launchers
  • Kornet missiles
  • Anti-aircraft machine guns
  • Kalashnikov rifles.

Weapons and living quarters located within the tunnel network.

Terrorists Located in Terror Tunnels

Recently, during a search of one of the underground terror tunnels, a drone operated by Combat Engineering troops identified terrorists inside the tunnel. The terrorists fled and opened fire at the drone.

They were later identified alongside additional terrorists attempting to escape from the underground terror tunnel. The Israeli Air Force, directed by the troops on the ground, struck and eliminated the terrorists.

The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove Hezbollah’s threat on Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
