The IDF located an underground terror tunnel containing hundreds of weapons and four launch shafts aimed at Israel - under the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon.

This method of operation is not new and is characteristic of Hezbollah, which has consistently been exposed for embedding its terrorist infrastructure in the heart of civilian communities. The village had been fortified and filled with terrorist infrastructure, including a significant underground terror tunnel.

Attached is an illustration showing the location of the tunnel:

What Was Found in the Hezbollah Tunnel

Troops located and dismantled more than 50 terrorist infrastructure sites, including observation posts and weapons storage facilities. The tunnel, over 200 meters long and more than 25 meters deep, contained:

  • Four launch shafts
  • Twelve rooms, including living quarters
  • Explosive devices
  • Anti-tank missiles
  • UAVs

During the operation, troops eliminated over twenty terrorists, including over ten terrorists from the Radwan Force.

Troops are operating in the area of Majdal Zoun, in accordance with the understandings, approximately ten kilometers from the border, in order to protect northern Israeli communities and IDF troops operating in the area.
