You've heard about the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System; it’s an advanced technology system which intercepts incoming rockets from enemy territories, saving countless lives.

The Iron Dome, also known as “Kippat Barzel'' in Hebrew, is a mobile aerial defense system which operates in all climates. The Iron Dome was fully functional by 2011 and was first used in operation “Pillar of Defense” in 2012, where over 400 rockets were intercepted. The Iron Dome is a compilation of several features: the technology itself, the machinery which shoots out the rockets, the soldiers who operate the system, and the commanders who supervise the network.

In the latest operation, operation “Shield and Arrow” in May 2023, over 1,000 rockets were fired at Israel from Islamic Jihad. Of the 1,469 Gazan rockets which were launched, only 1,139 rockets managed to cross into Israeli territory. The Iron Dome successfully intercepted 437 rockets, which is a 95.6% success rate of all interceptions. The Iron Dome saved the lives of thousands of Israeli civilians from Islamic Jihad’s threat.

These Iranian funded rockets were aimed at Israel's most densely populated areas, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv-Jaffo. The countless number of barrage rockets put the lives of all civilians at risk. The Iron Dome is a mechanism of pure defense, and has absolutely no attack capabilities. It is a purely noble invention and is crucial for the safety of Israel’s civilians.
