Addressing MSF’s Statement Regarding Nasser Hospital

For years, the media has shouted that the IDF has been an oppressive force in Gaza, and have targeted civilian infrastructure. With each headline, the IDF has responded with clear evidence of Hamas using civilian infrastructure as terror cells and headquarters for their operations.
Recently, an additional party has now weighed in. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are a humanitarian organization, who send medical aid and professionals into conflict zones. As of late, they released a statement, explaining the suspension of their medical care at Nasser Hospital, the largest functioning medical facility in Gaza, due to “armed masked men” flanking the facility, and “a recent situation of suspicion of movement of weapons.”
“With an uptick since the ceasefire, MSF teams have reported a pattern of unacceptable acts, including the presence of armed men, intimidation, arbitrary arrests of patients, and a recent situation of suspicion of movement of weapons,” the humanitarian organization said. “These incidents pose serious security threats to our teams and patients.”
The aid group said that armed men have additionally been arresting patients.
Since the beginning of the war, Israeli officials have stated that Hamas uses hospitals as terror infrastructure, and the IDF has released intelligence, testimonies, and footage to support this. Nasser Hospital in particular has previously been identified as a Hamas terrorist base, with credible intelligence indicating that hostages were held there and that terrorists operated from within the facility.
Israel has sent multiple aid trucks with medical supplies into Gaza, which have been looted by Hamas terrorists and other terrorist organizations in Gaza. Nonetheless, media headlines have disputed this for years, claiming no aid is being allowed in at all. The possibility that hospitals were being abused by armed groups was frequently treated as a talking point rather than a reality.
With MSF’s statement, it is clear this is no longer a matter of disputed reporting – it is a confirmed reality. Hospitals have been used as terror infrastructure, placing civilians and patients directly in harm’s way. The question now is whether the media will acknowledge this now that the source is not the IDF.
The Official IDF response:
“For over two years, the IDF and the defense establishment have warned about the cynical use by terrorist organizations in Gaza of hospitals and humanitarian shelters as human shields to conceal terrorist activity.
Following the statement made by the organization ‘Doctors Without Borders’ regarding the reduction of its operations due to the presence of armed individuals, the IDF indeed possesses intelligence indicating that Nasser Hospital is being used as a headquarters and military post for senior Hamas commanders and operatives in southern Gaza.
This is an important decision, but one that comes too late. This is further proof that reinforces the necessity for the disarmament of the Hamas terror organization.”
