IDF: IDF Chief of the General Staff to Commanders and Troops in Southern Lebanon: “We are at a historic crossroads. We are operating according to a plan in a defensive manner to fundamentally change the security reality—from Tehran to Beirut”

“We have additional significant plans for the continuation of the operation. The communities of the north rely on you. Continue to operate in a defensive and professional manner and remove threats to citizens. I trust you.”

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, conducted a field tour and situational assessment today (Friday) in southern Lebanon, together with the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Rafi Milo, the Commanding Officer of the 91st Division, BG Yuval Gaz, the Commanding Officer of the 769th Brigade, COL Y., and additional commanders.

The Chief of the General Staff spoke with the commanders and troops in both mandatory and reserve service, conducted a situational assessment, received an operational briefing, and provided directives for the continuation of operations in southern Lebanon.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “We can see the entire area before us, from which our communities are being targeted and we understand the mission here better than anywhere else. I believe this terrain reflects in a very significant way the mission, the threat, and the directions in which we are heading.

There is a generation of heroes here. This is a decisive and necessary operation. I believe you are doing excellent work, and we must now ensure that we persist and use the time to our advantage. Yesterday, the names of SSGT Ori Greenberg and SGT Aviaad Elchanan Volansky, who fell, were cleared for publication.

This morning, I spoke with my colleague, BG (Res.) Yair Volansky, Aviaad’s father. Yair served under my command. He was the Commanding Officer of the 77th Battalion when I commanded the 7th Brigade. Yair lost his brother, Avi, who was murdered along with his wife in a severe attack in Samaria in 2002.
In our conversation, Yair told me that Aviaad had no doubts—the mission was clear to him. Despite the immense pain, he asked me this morning that we continue forward, and that is what we will do.

This week, we targeted crossings and access routes north of the Litani. The bridges were used for the movement of Radwan terrorists and for the transfer of weapons southward, intended to harm Israeli civilians.

We are at a historic crossroads. We are operating according to a plan in a defensive manner to fundamentally change the security reality—from Tehran to Beirut.
Your fighting against Hezbollah is critical—thanks to you, the organization continues to be struck and weakened. We are dismantling and will continue to strike our enemies on every front where required. We will continue to operate and remain here as long as necessary in order to remove the threat in the north. We have additional significant plans for the continuation of the operation. The communities of the north rely on you—continue to operate in a defensive and professional manner and remove threats from Israeli civilians. I trust you.

In the operation against Iran, we will increase the pace of strikes this week. Thus far, we have severely damaged missile production capabilities, infrastructure remaining from its nuclear program, and terror regime targets.

Reserve personnel—we are in an operation that has been ongoing for over two and a half years. Time and again, you are called up and report for duty. I am confident that you will demonstrate the strength of the reserve forces and your deep experience in this operation as well. Your contribution is immense to the IDF and the State of Israel. I value and appreciate each and every one of you.”

IDF: As Part of the Ongoing Degradation Against the Iranian Terror Regime’s Nuclear Program: The IDF Struck a Unique Facility in Iran Used for the Production of Raw Materials Required for the Uranium Enrichment Process

A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF intelligence, struck a uranium extraction plant located in Yazd, central Iran.

This plant is the only one of its kind in Iran, where raw materials mined from the earth undergo mechanical and chemical processing so that they can later be used as raw materials for uranium enrichment.

This is a highly significant process for the nuclear weapons program advanced by the regime and constitutes the beginning of the value chain required for producing nuclear weapons.

The strikes targeted the main infrastructure used for the unique production processes.

Enriched uranium is a central and critical component in the development of nuclear weapons. Striking the site deprives the Iranian terror regime of the raw material needed for these processes and further undermines the Iranian nuclear weapons program.

The IDF will not allow the Iranian terror regime to continue its efforts to advance its nuclear weapons program, which poses an existential threat to the State of Israel and the entire world.

IDF: Following the Identification of Reconstruction Attempts: The Israeli Air Force Struck the Arak Heavy Water Plant—A Key Plutonium Production Site for Nuclear Weapons

A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF intelligence, struck the heavy water plant in Arak, central Iran.

Heavy water is a unique material used to operate nuclear reactors, such as the inactive Arak reactor, which was originally designed to have weapons-grade plutonium production capabilities. These materials can also be used as a neutron source for nuclear weapons.

Additionally, the plant was a significant economic asset for the terror regime and served as a source of income for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, generating tens of millions of dollars for the regime each year.

Despite explicit international commitments, foremost among them the nuclear agreement, the Iranian terror regime has systematically avoided converting the reactor so that it would not enable the production of weapons-grade plutonium, and even deliberately ordered that the conversion not be completed.

The plant was struck during Operation ‘Rising Lion’, and since then, repeated reconstruction attempts by the Iranian terror regime have been identified. Therefore, the IDF has now struck the facility once again.

The IDF will not allow the Iranian terror regime to continue its efforts to advance its nuclear weapons program, which poses an existential threat to the State of Israel and the entire world.

IDF: Hundreds of Weapons Located in a School in the Area of Al-Khiyam in Southern Lebanon During a Targeted Operation by Shayetet 13

As part of targeted ground operations conducted by troops from the Givati Brigade to enhance the security zone in southern Lebanon, Shayetet 13 carried out a targeted operation following intelligence indicating the presence of weapons in a school in the area of al-Khiyam in southern Lebanon, alongside the unit’s activity across multiple arenas, both at sea and on land.

Inside the school, hundreds of weapons were located, including anti-tank rockets, mortar shells, grenades, launchers, light firearms, explosive devices, explosive materials, and explosive device mechanisms.
All of this was found alongside UNHCR markings of the United Nations.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization systematically embeds terrorist infrastructure within civilian areas, thereby continuing to endanger the residents of Lebanon. The presence of weapons inside the school in al-Khiyam serves as an additional example of the deliberate exploitation of the civilian population to advance Hezbollah’s terrorist objectives.

IDF: Footage from the activities of the 401st Brigade in southern Lebanon: A Hezbollah terrorist emerged from an underground shaft and was eliminated in a close-quarters encounter

In recent days, the 401st Brigade has begun operating in southern Lebanon.

During their operations in the area, the soldiers identified a Hezbollah terrorist emerging from a shaft while opening fire toward them.
The soldiers quickly responded and engaged, returning fire and eliminating the terrorist. There were no IDF casualties.

Subsequently, the soldiers conducted searches in the area and located the shaft from which the terrorist emerged. In the compound, maps and various types of weapons were located, including firearms, RPG missiles, and equipment for extended stays.

The IDF will continue to operate with determination against Hezbollah, which chose to join the attacks on Israel and operate on behalf of the Iranian terror regime, and will not allow harm to the residents of Israel.

IDF: Within the Vicinity of a Church in Southern Lebanon: IDF Soldiers Locate Underground Hezbollah Infrastructure

During IDF operational activity in southern Lebanon, IDF soldiers located active Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure within the vicinity of a church in the area of Al-Khiyam.

During searches conducted in the area, the soldiers exposed and located a tunnel shaft and an underground infrastructure constructed within the church vicinity.

This combat zone, which the Hezbollah terrorist organization used for military activity, was first located by IDF troops in December 2024 and was then cleared of weapons and terrorists.

During the current searches in the vicinity, the soldiers located three additional shafts constructed by Hezbollah during the ceasefire, indicating renewed use of the site.

The repeated use of this site demonstrates Hezbollah’s systematic modus operandi of exploiting Lebanese civilians as human shields and deliberately embedding military infrastructure within religious sites and civilian areas.

The deliberate use of civilian religious institutions for military purposes constitutes a violation of international law.

The IDF emphasizes that its activity within the church vicinity was conducted based on precise intelligence indicating Hezbollah activity in the area and its use as an active military site.

IDF: As part of the wide-scale wave of strikes completed overnight in Tehran: The IDF struck dozens of military industries, launch sites, and operatives from the missile array

Overnight, the Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF intelligence, completed a wide-scale wave of strikes targeting infrastructure belonging to the Iranian terror regime.

As part of the strikes, the IDF further degraded production capabilities and struck dozens of weapons production sites.

Among the sites targeted:

* A base used by the Iranian army to train operatives and store missile systems intended to target aircraft
* A site for the manufacturing and development of ballistic missile components
* A site for manufacturing batteries for weapons
* A weapons production site of the IRGC

At the same time, the IDF continues to operate relentlessly against the regime’s firepower arrays, with the aim of reducing the scope of launches toward the State of Israel. Overnight, a staging and launch complex of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was struck, along with ballistic missile launch sites, air defense systems, and observation posts belonging to both the IRGC and the Iranian military.

In addition, the IDF identified several operatives from the ballistic missile array operating from a military structure in Tehran. Minutes after the identification, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated the terrorists who were planning to advance launches against the State of Israel.

The completed strikes are part of the effort to further degrade the Iranian terror regime’s core systems and capabilities.

IDF: The targeting of Iran’s naval capabilities continues: The IDF struck Iran’s central site for the production of missiles and sea mines

The Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF and Navy Intelligence, struck Iran’s primary facility for the production of missiles and sea mines, operated by the Iranian terror regime and located in the city of Yazd.

The site was used for the planning, development, assembly, and storage of advanced missiles intended for launch from cruise platforms, submarines, and helicopters toward both mobile and stationary maritime targets.

This is the site in which the Iranian Navy develops the majority of their missiles and sea mines.

This strike adds to a series of eliminations of the senior leadership of the IRGC Navy and constitutes a significant blow to the production capabilities of naval forces.

The IDF continues to operate against the regime’s military industries in order to degrade the production capabilities it has built over many years.
