The IDF and Israel Ministry of Defense Announce the Arrow 3 System's First Successful Operational Interception.

Israeli Air Defense Array soldiers successfully launched an 'Arrow 3' interceptor operationally for the first time this evening. The interceptor effectively intercepted a target launched towards Israel in the Red Sea region.

This marks the Arrow 3 system's first operational interception since its operational deployment in 2017. This achievement follows the recent success of the first operational interception carried out by the Arrow 2 system last week.

The Arrow 3 system is co-developed and co-produced by the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) in the Israel Ministry of Defense and the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA), led by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It is one of the most advanced air and missile defense system of its kind in the world for the interception of exo-atmospheric ballistic missiles.

The Arrow 3 Missile defense system is designed to intercept exo-atmospheric ballistic missiles with exceptional long-range interception capabilities.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is the primary contractor for the weapon system's development and production, the "Arrow" interceptors, and the radar detection system. Elbit Systems is responsible for the development of the BMC system. Tomer and Rafael Advanced Systems are the main subcontractors for the development and production of the "Arrow 3" interceptor.
