Interrogations

  • Approximately 4,600 interrogations have been conducted by Unit 504 since the beginning of the war.*

*Many of those interrogated have been incriminated as terrorists and some took part in the October 7 Massacre. 

During combat in Gaza, individuals suspected in terrorist activities were arrested. Relevant suspects are interrogated in Gazan territory or taken for further detention and questioning in Israeli territory. Individuals who are found not to be involved in terrorist activity are released as soon as possible into Gazan territory, to a location where they are not in danger. Individuals who reason is found to continue their detention in accordance with Israeli law are brought to a judicial review before a judge.

The Northern Gaza Brigade

Commander of the Northern Gaza Brigade: Ahmed Al-Ghandoor

Ahmed Al-Ghandoor was responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of Hamas in the northern area of Gaza and initiating, promoting and approving terrorist operations, including shooting attacks, explosive attacks and rocket fire against Israe, as well as directing attacks throughout Judea and Samaria.

Ahmed Al-Ghandoor was one of the leaders in the planning and execution of the murderous invasion and massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7.

Commander of the Central Camps Brigade: Ayman Nofel

In his various roles, Nofel directed terrorist attacks against Israel and Israeli security forces, and directed Hamas rocket fire specifically targeting areas populated by uninvolved civilians.

In the past, he was involved in the production and development of weapons, promoted and took part in many terrorist attacks and was a partner in planning the abduction of Gilad Shalit. Nofel was one of the most dominant senior officials in Hamas and was a close confidant of Mohammed Deif.
