The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, held a General Staff situational assessment today (Tuesday) at the Central Command with the Commander of the Central Command, MG Avi Bluth; the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, BG Kobi Heller; and additional commanders from the IDF General Staff, the ISA, and the Israel Border Police.

Afterward, the Chief of the General Staff held an open discussion with brigade commanders from the Judea and Samaria Division. He expressed his appreciation to the brigade commanders for their leadership throughout the war and during the challenging period of the Jewish holidays and commended the reserve troops who have mobilized and fought over the past two years.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “Last week, we marked two years since the war began. We took every operational opportunity across all arenas and operated to strengthen the security and resilience of the IDF and the State of Israel.

The focus and significant combat in the southern arena would not have been possible without strong defense across all arenas. Your operations are crucial to maintaining balance, reinforcing the civilians’ sense of safety, and preserving the connection with them.

We are in a period of significant change, which may bring developments, and we must be ready for various turns of events. Terrorists will try to disrupt stabilization efforts in the area, and therefore we must remain at a high level of alert, with maximum readiness, and operate proactively and offensively against them.

We must ease the burden on reserve troops. We will reinforce the Judea and Samaria arena with additional regular battalions.

I expect you, the brigade commanders, to present the situation as it truly is at the top and to remain attentive toward your subordinates, this is one of the lessons of October 7th. The mission is not over; many challenges still lie ahead across all arenas, especially in the Judea and Samaria arena. We must maintain stability, fight terrorism, strengthen the security of the communities, and continue to initiate operations to thwart emerging threats”.
