The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited Shayetet 13 today (Sunday) at the Atlit naval base, together with the Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy, VADM David Saar Salama, the Commanding Officer of Shayetet 13, Capt. A., and other senior officers.

During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff received a briefing on the operations and capabilities the naval squadron had employed during the war. He spoke with the unit’s troops about their activity across various arenas and expressed his appreciation for their work.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “This week we are issuing tens of thousands of call-up orders to reservists in order to strengthen and expand our operations in Gaza. We are increasing the pressure with the aim of bringing our people home and defeating Hamas. We will operate in additional areas and destroy all terrorist infrastructure—above and below ground.”

"You, the Shayetet troops, are in a unique unit that has operated with excellence throughout the war and achieved significant results thanks to your special capabilities. We will continue to strengthen the maritime dimension—special operations at sea and from the sea—as part of the strategic capabilities of the IDF and the State of Israel. We have deep appreciation to all our reservists, the integration of all forces—in mandatory service, standing service, and reservists, frontline and homefront. It is what we need in order to accomplish our missions”.
