Weekly Counterterrorism Summary in the Central Command

Israeli security forces operated this week throughout the Central Command area as part of dozens of defensive activities.

The Jordan Valley Regional Brigade completed a brigade-level operation in the area of Jericho, during which approximately 70 locations were searched and three terrorists were apprehended.

In the area of the Judea Regional Brigade, in a joint activity with Israel Police’s Judea and Samaria District, two machines for manufacturing weapons, an M16 rifle, weapon parts, ammunition, and three million shekels in terror funds were confiscated.

In the Samaria Regional Brigade, more than 30 terrorists were apprehended, and parts for assembling explosive devices, M16 rifles, and military equipment that had been hidden inside shops in the area of Balata in Nablus were confiscated.

In the area of the Menashe Regional Brigade, wanted suspects affiliated with the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations were apprehended. In addition, Kalashnikov rifles, military equipment, and terror funds valued at tens of thousands of shekels were confiscated. Additionally, paraphernalia containing ISIS emblems was found, a striking example of the overarching terror threat in the region.

 

In the Binyamin Regional Brigade, in a joint activity with the Judea and Samaria District of the Israel Police, several Hamas operatives and terrorists who had thrown Molotov cocktails toward the community of Beit El were apprehended. Additionally, weapons were confiscated.

In the Ephraim Regional Brigade, M4 rifles and terror funds valued at thousands of shekels were confiscated, and in the Etzion Regional Brigade, several wanted suspects were apprehended and weapon parts were confiscated.

The apprehended suspects and confiscated weapons were transferred to the ISA and the Israel Police’s Judea and Samaria District for further handling.
