The Commander of the German Army, LTG Christian Freuding, concluded his visit to Israel today.

The Commander of the German Army held a meeting with the Commander of the IDF Ground Forces, MG Nadav Lotan, in order to sign the cooperation agreement between the armies. This signing constitutes a central pillar in the strategic relations between the IDF Ground Forces and the German Army.

During his visit, he participated in an aerial tour over the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip to gain a close understanding of the security reality and the locations where Israeli civilians were brutally massacred on October 7th by the Hamas terrorist organization.

At the conclusion of his visit, he visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, where he took part in a wreath-laying ceremony.

Throughout the visit, he was presented with professional briefings addressing the knowledge and lessons learned during the war, with a focus on ground force development and force build-up, led by the Commander of the Israeli Ground Forces.

The commanders agreed that addressing similar challenges constitutes a central pillar in the strategic relations between Israel and Germany and forms the basis for the joint work plan moving forward.

The IDF places great importance on deepening its ties with foreign militaries and on continuing to strengthen the strategic partnership between the countries.
