Since the renewal of ground operations in the Southern Command (March 18, 2025) - the key achievements of the IDF and the ISA:
Operational Control Over Approximately 75% of the Gaza Strip:
During Operation “Gideon’s Chariots”, IDF troops under the Southern Command achieved operational control over about 75% of the Gaza Strip.
This operational control enabled the IDF to significantly expand its activities, thereby striking Hamas’ capabilities and terrorist infrastructure as well as undermining its chain of command.

The Key Control Corridors Established:
During the initial renewal of ground operations in March 2025 and throughout Operation “Gideon’s Chariots”, the IDF paved central corridors in the Gaza Strip with the aim of striking Hamas’ capabilities and defeating its brigades.
The “Morag” Corridor - a key corridor splitting the Rafah and Khan Yunis Brigades.
The “Magen Oz” Corridor - a key corridor splitting the Khan Yunis Brigade from the east to the west.

Targeted Eliminations and the Major Strikes During the Operations:
Since the initial renewal of ground operations under the Southern Command (March 18, 2025), approximately 10,000 terror targets have been struck by hundreds of fighter jets, aircraft, and naval vessels belonging to the Israeli Air Force and the Israeli Navy.
In the most significant strike, in a joint operation by the IDF and the ISA on May 13, 2025, fighter jets struck in the Khan Yunis area and eliminated the terrorists Mohammad Sinwar, head of the Hamas terrorist organization’s military wing; Mohammad Shabaneh, commander of Hamas’ Rafah Brigade; and Mahdi Quara, commander of the South Khan Yunis Battalion.
In addition, senior Hamas officials were eliminated - commanders in the General Security Apparatus, six senior commanders in the terrorist organization’s naval commando unit, dozens of terrorists who infiltrated Israeli territory and took part in the October 7th massacre, and hundreds of additional terrorists and military commanders from the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.

The Ground Operations of the 162nd, 143rd, 98th, 252nd, 36th, and 99th Divisions:
During Operation ‘Gideon’s Chariots’, five divisions operated simultaneously on the ground in order to achieve operational control above and below ground across the Gaza Strip.
IDF troops operated in strategic areas throughout Gaza, where they located and dismantled dozens of terror tunnels, blocked escape routes for terrorists, and eliminated dozens of terrorist cells and senior Hamas commanders.
These activities degraded the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip’s combat and command capabilities and created significant operational enhancements designed to ensure long-term security for the civilians of the State of Israel.
The achievements of the IDF during Operation “Gideon’s Chariots” created conducive operational conditions to enhance the pressure on the Hamas terrorist organization and strike its remaining capabilities. These achievements serve as the basis for the IDF’s next operations in the Gaza Strip.
