Organization in Momentum – The Digital Transformation Administration

ABSTRACT: In the IDF today the discourse revolves around the need for digital transformation as a means for achieving superiority in the traditional domains of combat (air, sea and land) and in the digital battlespace itself. Nonetheless, there are substantive questions about how to implement a digital change in the IDF. The establishment of the Digital Transformation Administration was an organizational step in the right direction, but transformation requires additional changes in the IDF's culture. This paper sheds light on the IDF's challenges, dilemmas and opportunities in carrying out a digital transformation and presents the right way to manage this process in order to ensure full utilization of the new technological tools.
