Aerial Superiority

ABSTRACT: The aerial superiority of the IDF has come under increasing threat in recent years. The combination of superpower presence, the spread of advanced air defense systems in the region, and low-altitude drones have constrained the operational latitude of the IAF. The IAF must make significant changes to force design and employment if it wishes to preserve its superiority over Israel's enemies. In light of this, and due to the IAF's central place in the multi-domain war framework, the author suggests a number of steps, principally strengthening IAF networks and improving the ability to provide fire as part of a multi-domain maneuver.
