Contributing Equally to the State, Safeguarding the Principle of "the People's Army" in the Model of "Drawn from the Nation" in the Twenty-First Century
ABSTRACT: Over the years the principle of "the people's army", formulated at the founding of the nation, has been eroded. This paper investigates the processes of this erosion and the social, economic, and historical factors that led to the need for a new examination of the current model of service. After defining the problem, the author presents a new model that integrates a continuation of "the people's army" model with an expansion of national service in a manner that should reduce the tension between different sectors in society and maintain the principle of equality.
