Information Warfare Between Global Powers in the 21st Century

ABSTRACT: For years the United States assumed its own superiority within the cyber sphere. This made it more difficult for them to identify Russia's and China's successes at combining information warfare with cyber warfare and strengthening their strategic posture against the US. This article examines the balance of forces between the three global powers – Russia, China & US – in the realm of information warfare. The analysis is conducted by examination of the different ways in which each country grasps the components of information warfare and related fields like cyber and electronic warfare etc. This article also presents the countries' force design processes that are in fact the actualization of the aforementioned approaches.
