Today, March 31, 2023, marks one year since Operation Break the Wave. Over the past year, Israel has seen an uprise of terrorist attacks, which has led to the death of 45 Israeli civilians, foreigners and security personnel.

In the year 2023 alone, 14 Israelis, including 3 children, were killed in terrorist attacks.

On March 22, 2022, in the city of Be'er Sheva, 4 innocent Israelis were murdered in a stabbing attack. In the same week, a terrorist shot and killed 5 civilians in Bnei Brak. Just two days later, in the city of Hadera, another terrorist attack occured in which 2 Border Police officers were killed and 12 innocent civilians were injured.

In response, the IDF initiated Operation Break the Wave; a counterterrorism operation conducted to thwart future attacks and apprehend those involved in terrorist activities against Israeli civilians.

Since the operation began, the IDF has increased its intelligence-based counterterrorism efforts. This increase has thwarted hundreds of potential attacks and has saved the lives of countless innocent civilians.

The threat of terrorism still remains and Operation Break the Wave continues to play an integral role in saving and protecting the lives of our people.

The IDF will not stand for terrorism and will continue to advance its capabilities to operate for the security of all Israelis.
