The Chief of the General Staff in Khan Yunis: “All paths lead to one place. All the options we are presenting have one goal: returning the hostages and a decisive victory”

Today (Monday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, conducted a field tour and situational assessment in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. He was accompanied by the Commander of the Southern Command, MG Yaniv Asor; the Head of the Operations Directorate, MG Itzik Cohen, the Head of the Intelligence Directorate, MG Shlomi Binder; the Commander of the 36th Division, BG Moran Omer, the Commander of the Gaza Division, BG Barak Hiram; as well as brigade commanders and additional senior officers.

The Chief of the General Staff held a situational assessment regarding the continuation of activity during Operation “Gideon’s Chariots”, had a discussion with the soldiers and commanders operating in the field, and expressed his appreciation for their important work.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “We continue to operate in all arenas, on all fronts. Tonight, alongside the operations you are carrying out here, we operated in Yemen, we operated in Lebanon. We are operating everywhere — near and far.
In Iran, we are monitoring the assessment of the impact, and I tell you here, our assessment of the impact is that it is high.
Alongside Iran, our current focus, the central front, is Gaza. That’s where we are concentrating, and we are determined, let this be clear to everyone, determined to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves: the return of the hostages, the defeat of Hamas, and the safe return of our communities. 
We have no intention of giving up on any of these objectives. We will continue to act here with determination, with perseverance, with strength, and with wisdom — and we will lead to victory. Ignore the background noise; we are steady, and our eyes are on the main objectives.
There are five divisions here, engaged in both offense and defense. The force structure here should be sufficient to carry out the mission. ‘Gideon’s Chariots’ is progressing according to plan.
You have achieved great accomplishments here, and I will tell you — the greatest achievements since “Swords of Iron” began — are here in the Gaza Strip.
We are very close to a decision-making crossroads, but the achievements here are extremely impressive.
There are over 1,300 terrorists eliminated. Senior Hamas figures eliminated, Sinwar, Sabaneh, and many other evil individuals. You are operating here, dismantling their infrastructure — their underground infrastructure.
You are creating new opportunities that we are discussing with the political level. We are presenting all the options.
All paths lead to one place. All the options we are presenting and discussing with the political level have one goal: returning the hostages and a decisive victory.
And we are moving toward a decisive victory. Let me tell you — all the achievements here are thanks to you.”
