Press Briefing by IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari January 14th, 20:15

Good evening,
In the last hour, we struck Hezbollah military targets in Lebanon. We continue to damage the organization's capabilities and extract an increasingly heavy price.

Earlier, two civilians were killed in a missile attack against a civilian house in Kfar Yuval - Mirah Eyalon and her son Barak, may their memory be a blessing (z"l). Hezbollah is a murderous terrorist organization that kills civilians. We will not allow harm to civilians; the price for this will not only be extracted tonight but also in the future.

During the night, reservist soldiers guarding the Har Dov area for the past three months identified a terrorist cell that had infiltrated from Lebanese territory. The soldiers acted professionally, under challenging weather conditions and limited visibility, engaged the enemy, and eliminated the three terrorists. The terrorists were found with AK-47s and grenades.
We are strengthening our defenses at the borders, with a clear policy of not allowing border infiltration.

We will be measured by our actions. We are determined to change the security situation in the north and, in parallel, remain focused on Gaza – where the hostages are held.

This evening, I address the families of the hostages whose loved ones have been held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for a hundred days. We cannot grasp the depth of your pain, but we know that returning your loved ones, our loved ones, is our moral compass. We are exerting all our intelligence and operational efforts to bring them home. Every minute has critical significance, and we are acting at every opportunity and through every means to bring them back.

We do not intend to back down from Khan Yunis or any other place. The military operation takes time. It requires us to be precise, and we tailor it to the threats and the captives in the area. There are no shortcuts here; it takes time and, above all, resilience. We are working in collaboration with the ISA to eliminate the Hamas leadership. Every day we evaluate our actions and strive to excel further.

In Judea and Samaria, we eliminated a terrorist cell that fired at our forces from a vehicle.

With the onset of the war, we are prepared for winter weather conditions. The soldiers are equipped with hundreds of thousands of winter suits, thermal clothing, and winter clothing items. Additionally, we adjusted the food and installed hundreds of heating devices, including in tents in the field. We are doing everything to provide better logistical support for our soldiers and are constantly improving it – whether in Gaza or for our soldiers stationed in the Hermon.
