Grad rockets

Grad rockets, which are short to medium range rockets, were developed in the
1960s by the Soviet Union and today are used by terrorist organizations like Hamas and
Hezbollah.

During the Second Lebanon War, Hezbollah fired over 3,000 Grad rockets (also
known as Katyushas) at Israel.

In recent years, especially during Operation Cast Lead, Grad rockets were
launched from Gaza at Israeli communities such as Beer Sheva, Ophakim, Ashkelon,
Ashdod, and others.
