The Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet security service), with assistance from the IDF, has exposed a Hamas terror network in the city of Hebron. Members of this network, including a terrorist who was deported to the Gaza Strip as part of the agreement in which Sgt. First Class Gilad Shalit was returned to Israel, intended to carry out various terror attacks – but were arrested before executing their plans.

Security forces recovered a pipe bomb that the terrorists had prepared for use in an attack.

The ISA investigation of the members of the Hamas network, most of whom had served in local Hamas terror cells in Hebron, had planned to carry out attacks using a variety of attacks – mostly integrated attacks involving explosives and gunfire at an IDF post near Hebron.

The discovery of the network underscores the rising threat of Hamas activity in Judea and Samaria, particularly in light of Hamas' control of the Gaza Strip.

Central members of the terror network:

Manjed Musa Diab Junidi, age 23. Was active as the leader and recruiter of the terror cell. Released in the Shalit deal and deported to the Gaza Strip where planned to recruit a terror cell to perpetrate attacks against Israeli targets.

Muhammad Hassan Rajab Abu Sahidem, age 25. Confessed to building a pipe bomb for a planned terror attack and preparing shooting and explosive device attacks as part of the terror cell.

Anas Rateb Ahmad Davik, age 23. Member of the terror cell.
