Over the past 12 years, Hamas and Gaza's other terror groups have fired over 12,000 rockets at Israel. These attacks have deliberately targeted civilians, tormenting much of southern Israel's population. As a result, many residents of southern Israel today suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
In light of the ongoing rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, the IDF launched Operation Pillar of Defense in order to put an end to the rocket fire – and an end to the suffering of those Israelis who live under fire.
