Rockets fall on southern Israel, IDF targets terror activity sites

Over 70 rockets have been fired at Israel since last night, injuring 3 civilians; Iron Dome has successfully intercepted 7 rockets

1:55 p.m - Minutes ago, four additional rockets hit the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.

11:05 - In response to the ongoing rocket fire at Israeli communities, a short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a terror tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip and Armored Forces targeted terror activity sites. Hits were confirmed.

8:10 - Over 65 rockets have been fired at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip over the past 8 hours.

Damage caused by rocket attack on southern Israel

In response to this rocket fire, a short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a rocket-launching site in the northern Gaza Strip. In addition, tank shells were fired towards terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip. Hits were confirmed.

Over the course of the night, IAF aircraft targeted three separate rocket-launching squads in the Gaza Strip. Two cells in the northern Gaza Strip were hit during their final preparations to fire rockets towards southern Israel, and this morning a cell in the southern Gaza Strip was also hit during its preparations to fire rockets towards southern Israel. Hits were confirmed in all three strikes.

The Iron Dome anti-missile defense batteries have been operating in southern Israel, successfully intercepting seven rockets headed towards densely populated areas, saving lives in the process. Two civilians have been severely injured and another civilian lightly injured in direct hits from rocket attacks.


Damage caused by rocket attacks on southern Israel from Gaza

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians, and will operate against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel. The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
