During the month of September, 4,642 truckloads of goods were delivered to the Gaza Strip from Israel through land crossings, including 1,444 truckloads of construction materials. Additionally, last month the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) approved 16 projects to improve the quality of life of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of such projects approved to 235.
These and other data were included in "Humanitarian & Civilian Activities towards the Gaza Strip – Monthly Report for September 2012," which was recently published by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). The report focuses largely on the transfer of goods into Gaza and the progress of civilian projects in the region.
During September, 3,875 Palestinians exited Gaza, including 1,359 businesspeople. Additionally, 1,308 exit permits were issued for medical patients and people accompanying them.
The transfer of goods to Gaza is coordinated by the Israeli government and the IDF, as well as Palestinian and international organizations.
