Body of soldier missing since 2005 found near town of Usfiya
This morning, the remains of a discovered body were matched with the DNA of a missing IDF soldier, Private Majdi Halabi, who has been missing since May 2005. The remains were discovered approximately two weeks ago, near the town of Usfiya, and were identified by the Institute of Forensic Medicine. The circumstances of his death are currently under investigation by the Israeli Police. The Head of Personnel Directorate, Major General Orna Barbivay, has informed Halabi's family. The date of the funeral will be released separately. The IDF and the other Israeli security organizations will continue to do everything in their power in order to return all missing IDF soldiers to their families.
