IDF completes preparations for the New Year, which soldiers and officers from all branches will celebrate at dozens of bases and outposts starting tonight
Tonight (Sunday, September 16), with the start of Rosh Hashanah, IDF soldiers and officers from all branches will celebrate the Jewish New Year at dozens of bases and outposts. The various units within the IDF are completing their preparations for the holiday meal.
The soldiers will be treated to special meals in honor of the holiday, for which the IDF has prepared 6 tons of fish, 18 tons of turkey, 16 tons of chicken, and 7.5 tons of beef. In addition, the traditional dish of apples and honey will be provided, with soldiers receiving a total of 25 tons of apples and 2 tons of honey.
Dining halls have also been stocked with 3.5 tons of dried fruit, 5.5 tons of pomegranates, and 6 tons of fresh yellow dates. Six tons of rich honey cake will be provided for desert. Soldiers will toast the New Year with 7,000 bottles of grape juice and 9,500 bottles of soft drink.
IDF soldiers are stationed across all the nation's borders and will continue all security activities in order to protect the security of the State of Israel and ensure that all enjoy a quiet and happy New Year.
