Admiral Rothberg discusses current challenges, including regional turmoil, which "affects the naval front as well and creates whirlpools that must not be ignored"
Israeli Navy Commander, Admiral Ram Rothberg addressed current threats the Israeli Navy is facing during a briefing to military reporters held today, Monday (July 9).
Admiral Rothberg discussed the Israeli Navy as "an integral part of the IDF's strategic preparation for war." He explained, "The Navy cooperates with both the ground and aerial forces and allows for high versatility in a wide variety of capabilities. Enabling the IDF to carry out high quality operations, the Navy strives to participate in every IDF campaign."
He continued to explain, "We already see results from this trend, as the Navy plays a key role in ground operations as well as aerial strikes." He said, "The Navy knows how to seal Israel's naval borders while simultaneously maintaining the southern border."
The regional turmoil currently affecting the Middle East, "affects the naval front as well," according to Admiral Rothberg. "At times it seems the sea is quiet, though deep currents are creating whirlpools in the depths that should not be ignored. In the face of all of these, Israeli Navy combat soldiers stand fearless, determined and powerful, on all vessels, at sea surface and in the depths, working day and night to defend Israel's shores and citizens."
