Hundreds of officers, soldiers, and bereaved families participated in the Ordnance Corps' annual memorial ceremony yesterday (Wednesday, June 14) in central Israel.
The ceremony was led by Brig. Gen. Zvika Kraus, Chief Ordnance Officer; Maj. Gen. Kobi Barak, chief of the Technology and Logistics Branch; and Col. (res.) Aharon Muallem, chairman of the Ordnance Corps Foundation.
Maj. Gen. Barak delivered an address at the ceremony. "These days, we mark 30 years since the First Lebanon War, in which the IDF drove the terror organizations out of Lebanon. Thirty years later, the threat from the north has only transformed and has even grown. Our enemies have not abandoned their goal of destroying the State of Israel and our Zionist dreams. However, today as then, the IDF is strong, determined, and ready for every enemy. We will do whatever is necessary to protect the State of Israel, its sovereignty, and its residents," said Maj. Gen. Barak in his address," he said.
The Ordnance Corps memorial ceremony has taken place annually in Netanya since the early 1990s, when the City of Netanya built a monument listing the names of each of the Corps' 756 fallen soldiers.
